The Building Blocks
Orton Gillingham
The Orton Gillingam curriculum breaks down the science of reading in a way that is simple for children to learn. Just like math, simple foundational concepts are mastered, and then built upon. Custom and differentiated instruction ensures each student is being taught at their level and encouraged to go beyond their current limits.
Social / Emotional Learning
Children are constantly learning. A small group of students at the same ability level provide support and reinforcement of good learning habits. As they celebrate each others’ successes and interact during sessions, they will build important social and emotional strength.
Manipulatives
Learning should be fun! Hands on tools and materials, known as manipulatives, engage multiple areas of a learning brain. If you’ve ever heard the term “learn through play,” then you already know!
Learning Environment
Our reading nook is a fantastic learning environment. Free from distractions, and designed to put students at ease, our young learners will be fully engaged with the curriculum. Parents are welcome to lounge outside the nook, stroll through the neighborhood, or even bring siblings to the local park around the corner.
Reading Instruction
Being a strong reading gives a child a head start on expanding their vocabulary and building independence and self-confidence. It’s like building a house- you must start wit ha solid foundation. I offer lessons on:

Math Instruction
Math forces kids to slow down, analyze a problem, and devise a logical solution. It encourages them to think outside the box and consider different approaches. I offer lessons on:

Writing Instruction
Writing allows us to preserve our ideas and memories! Learning to write can be overwhelming because it requires organizational skills that must be explicitly taught. I offer lessons on:
