Learning to read - the fun and effective way!
How it works
Every child is different - our literacy intervention curriculum identifies the individual strengths and areas of growth for each student. Our small group sizes allow for each child to receive the individual instruction needed to achieve steady and effective growth. Like most programs, consistent learning sessions produce the best results. Multiple sessions a week are strongly encouraged, and the typical student utilizes one to two semesters to develop through the program. Periodic assessments allow the instructor, parents and students to see the success through the program and keep on track. This method has proven to be incredibly effective in recent years throughout multiple districts.
I am a mother of 2 girls, both in elementary school. I have a Masters degree in Education, a Bachelors in Psychology, and an AA degree in Early Childhood Development. I am a credentialed teacher and have been teaching in CA for over 10 years. During Covid, I supplemented my girls’ education and quickly realized how effective instruction can be from home (in a controlled environment) and in a very small group. For 2 years, I worked as a Reading Specialist for LAUSD and loved every minute of it!
About the instructor
Jessica Miller is a fully credentialed teacher within California, and has spent the last 10 years as a classroom teacher and more recently as a literacy intervention specialist. Her students consistently achieved the highest rate of growth in reading within the LAUSD region (over 50 schools) for the past two years. More important than her mastery of the curriculum, is the level of care and commitment she devotes to each student.
Learning should be fun and exciting! With hands-on, multi-sensory manipulatives and tools, students can feel as if they are playing while learning crucial foundational reading skills.
Our rates
We offer 60 minute sessions, 45 minute sessions, and 30 minute sessions.
We do this to accommodate for different ages and attention spans.
